The NIAID program in Modeling Immunity for Biodefense (MIB) funds 4 centers to bring together immunologists, microbiologists, bioinformaticians, biostatisticians and modelers to develop mathematical models of immunity to infection or vaccination. The program supports an annual Summer School in Computational Immunology and symposia to introduce immunologists to modeling techniques and to explain how modeling can enhance immunological research. Information links to the MIB centers, the upcoming 2015 symposium and summer school hosted by the CBIM and to past events are below.

2015 Summer School on Computational Immunology, Rochester NY
Computational Immunology is the use mathematical or computational models or representations, derived from immunological or biological concepts and mechanisms based on experimental data using statistical methods, bioinformatics and/or systems biology approaches, to query or address immunological problems.
2015 Symposium on Immune Modeling in the Big Data Era, Rochester NY
To promote the use of computational modeling approaches in immunology research and exchange research ideas and information on computational immunology between the NIAID Modeling Immunity for Biodefense (MIB) network and other related networks/investigators.
