CBIM Objectives

Objectives of the University of Rochester Center for Biodefense Immune Modeling Center

  • To develop mathematical/computational models to simulate immune response to unmodified and modified influenza A virus.
  • To design and conduct in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo experiments to identify, measure and validate the immune response models.
  • To develop statistical methods and software tools for immunology data analysis and immunity model identification and prediction.
  • To develop a Web-based software system for modeling and simulating immune responses to influenza A virus and other biopathogens.
  • To develop an educational program to provide new researchers with multidisciplinary expertise in mathematical modeling principles and techniques in immunology.
  • To investigate the feasibility of extending and modifying the influenza A mathematical/computational models to other viruses for immune response simulations.
